Konzept und Forschungsergebnisse des Elternkurses Starke Eltern - Starke Kinder® werden präsentiert, entwicklungshemmende und entwicklungsfördernde Dimensionen der Erziehung aufgezeigt, drei weitere Elternkurse miteinander verglichen: Triple P, Step, Erziehungsführerschein. Wie haben sich Einstellungen und elterliches Verhalten durch den Besuch des Kurses Starke Eltern - Starke Kinder® verändert? Die Forschungsergebnisse, die in diesem Buch vorgestellt werden, zeigen zu meinen, dass Eltern auf der Suche nach Orientierung und Unterstützung sind und zum anderen, dass der Elternkurs Starke Eltern - Starke Kinder® nicht nur das Selbstvertrauen der Eltern stärkt, sondern ihr entwicklungsförderndes Handlungspotenzial erweitert und ihr entwicklungshemmendes Verhalten reduziert. Eckpfeiler einer entwicklungsfördernden Erziehung werden herausgearbeitet und den entwicklungshemmenden Dimensionen gegenübergestellt. Da der Elternkurs des Deutschen Kinderschutzbundes nicht das einzige Präventionsangebot dieser Art ist, werden drei weitere Elternkurse vorgestellt und Menschenbilder, Ziele, Inhalte und Methoden miteinanderverglichen: Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) - STEP-Elternkurs - Erziehungsführerschein. Mit diesem Buch soll auf die Bedeutung von Präventionsangeboten für alle Eltern hingewiesen werden.
