In der vorliegenden Studie werden die nationalen und europäischen Karriereverläufe von Abgeordneten des Europäischen Parlaments aus Deutschland, Frankreich, Großbritannien und Italien untersucht. Eine Vollerhebung aller Abgeordneten aus den untersuchten Staaten (1.562 Personen) ermöglicht die Einbeziehung vielfältiger Faktoren und die Einordnung in eine eigens entwickelte Typologie der Karrieretypen. Neben den sozio-demographischen Merkmalen steht dabei der durch die Untersuchung der individuellen Ämterübernahmen diagnostizierbare Concours in den Karriereverläufen im Fokus des Interesses.
