Les nano-poudres du carbonate de baryum (BaCO3) non dopé et co-dopé aux ions (Eu3+, Dy3+) ont été obtenues en utilisant la méthode d’auto-combustion. Dans la première partie, nous avons étudié l’effet de la concentration des ions europium sur la matrice BaCO3. Les résultats obtenus par DRX ont révélé que les échantillons sont constitués de la phase BaCO3 de structure orthorhombique. Nous avons utilisé la théorie de Judd-Offelt pour calculer les paramètres de Judd et déduire les probabilités d’émission spontanée, les durées de vie des niveaux émetteurs et le rendement quantique de l’émission. Les résultats ont montré que BaCO3 :Eu3+ dopé à 1% présentait des caractéristiques favorables pour l’émission laser dans la zone rouge. Dans la deuxième partie, nous avons étudié des propriétés spectroscopiques de l’ion Eu3+/Dy3+ dans la matrice. Les résultats obtenus par résonances électroniques paramagnétiques (RPE) confirment les présences des ions Eu3+ et Dy3+ dans BaCO3 par la résonance des leurs électrons non apparié. L’analyse des propriétés optiques des BaCO3 dopé aux ions terres rares a montré l’existence d’un transfert d’énergie des ions Dy3+ vers Eu3+.
