Me imagino que muchas personas se preguntarán porquéhe decidido escribir este libro en esta etapa de mi vida.El llegar a este punto en mi vida es precisamente la razón por lacual decidí escribirlo. Desde hace mucho tiempo tenía en menteescribir un libro acerca de las experiencias propias y de mi familiaen el mundo de la música, pero lo había ido aplazandoaño tras año. Pensé que sería criticado y acusado de sacar beneficiode la historia de mi familia. En mi corazón sabía queeso no era verdad, pero ese pensamiento sí me detuvo. Luegoescuché que alguien dijo-La historia es creada por aquellosque la escriben.He leído muchos relatos acerca de mí y de mi familia querealmente no son verdaderos. La historia que esos falso relatosdetallaban no era nuestra verdadera historia. Sólo nosotrospodemos contar nuestra historia. Además, a mis ochenta y dosaños de edad, con una vida entera de experiencia bajo el escrutiniopúblico, llegué a la conclusión de que todos debemosser valientes y ser propietarios de nuestras vidas. Escribí estelibro para que el público conozca nuestra historia tal y como lavivimos. Lo escribí para que todos sepan de nuestras batallas,nuestros éxitos y nuestras creencias. Una vez que decidí era eltiempo de sentarse y contar nuestra historia, ya no podía darmarcha atrás.
