Conoce, entre otros referentes culturales, a Álvaro Mutis (novelista y poeta) con quien entabla una buena amistad y con el paso de los años, presenta programas semanales de exposiciones y museos en las emisoras HJCK y La Radiodifusora Nacional y así se convierte en un famoso crítico de arte. En la Bogotá de los años 50, recibe una visita inesperada.
