Este libro es un resumen de todas las claves en las que se sustenta la teoría de la muerte de Paul McCartney: las pruebas forenses realizadas, los indicios encontrados en canciones, el análisis de la vida de los protagonistas de esta historia y, en fin, todos aquellos detalles que parecen apoyar esta ’leyenda’ (o leyenda; la decisión de colocar comillas al final la dejo al criterio de cada lector).En algunos casos hay un fuerte componente de interpretación, en lo que a letras de canciones y declaraciones en entrevistas se refiere,debido a lo cual, a lo largo de los años, me he visto en la necesidad de defender de forma argumentada mi perspectiva. Es bien sabido que escritores, políticos, periodistas o historiadores trabajan interpretando los datos existentes sobre cualquier teoría, aportando su visión personal, imposible de eliminar del todo de cualquier obra. Quizás hasta en los asuntos más importantes todo lo que tengamos sean interpretaciones, y nuestra tarea sea elegir la que consideramos más coherente con lo que nos muestra la ’realidad’, siempre tan difícil de apresar. Esto no ha de ser negativo, siempre que se haga razonadamente, siendo verosímil en su contexto y sobre todo basándose en hechos y declaraciones contrastadas, que es el objetivo que he perseguido desde el principio, pues he sido siempre la primera en hacerme preguntas y dudar de la veracidad de este asunto.
