El trabajo 'Discurso de las condenadas, brujas y hechiceras en la Inquisición de Cartagena de Indias' pretende demostrar que los saberes de estas mujeres reas del Tribunal del Santo Oficio de la ciudad de Cartagena de Indias - en el período comprendido entre 1610 y 1650 - eran algo propio de dichos colectivos y, sobre todo, que estos conocimientos no eran algo racional o científico como algunos pretenden ver para no darles una validez histórica. Se puede demostrar que fue algo que adquirieron en algunos casos porque era propio de sus culturas, y en otros por las condiciones un poco personales, pero que tenían sentido entonces y también lo tienen en la actualidad. Como demuestra la antropología, podemos decir que las artes mágicas son un elemento inherente a la estructuración de las poblaciones antiguas, como la griega o la romana, que impulsaron estas actividades y que, por supuesto, desembocaron en unos discursos en los que la literatura (el cuento o la poesía) formó parte de las mismas como recreación de unos determinados ambientes; esto se puede ver en el trabajo, en la manera en que recrearon los lugares en los que habitaron, ya fueran del ámbito urbano o rural.
