Fue en septiembre del 2003 cuando ellos se cruzaron en mi camino. Aquella tutoría necesitaba a alguien con ganas de echarles una mano y yo buscaba nuevos motivos para recargar mis energías en aquellos días extraños. Con su ayuda e ideas, escribí una historia de una adolescente como ellos, para trabajar en la tutoría del curso siguiente, llamado 'El diario de Kayleigh'. Con sus aportaciones el argumento fue creciendo y mejorando. Por eso, gran parte de los diálogos y sentimientos que aparecen no son míos. Yo sólo he sido el ratero emocional de un grupo de adolescentes. 'El Diario de Kayleigh' está repleto de diálogos, con pequeñas pausas para tener las reflexiones justas para seguir adelante. No es una obra literaria, es un espejo novelado de las inquietudes que nacen en la edad del pavo, aunque Kayleigh no entienda la relación que existe entre un ave de la familia de las phasianidaes y ella.
