El contexto colonial y poscolonial en la narrativa hispano-guineana es un tratado de literatura comparada que busca la conversación y el contraste entre dos novelas de autores españoles (La selva humillada, 1951, de Bartolomé Soler, y La tribu, 1980, de Manuel Leguineche) y dos novelas de autores guineoecuatorianos (Las tinieblas de tu memoria negra, 1987, de Donato Ndongo Bidyogo, y El párroco de Niefang, 1996, de Joaquín Mbomio Bacheng). El prejuicio colonial y la reacción poscolonial, frente a frente. Sobre un territorio desdichado, cubierto por nubes igual de negras, ya que el devenir de la Guinea Ecuatorial independiente ha acabado en fracaso por culpa de políticas y de políticos nativos que imitan y exageran los modos dictatoriales de la época anterior y que fueron y son tan corruptos como los de la colonia. Mientras Bartolomé Soler glorifica la colonia como una gesta civilizatoria, Donato Ndongo Bidyogo enfatiza la explotación y la alienación, hoy como ayer, de las gentes del país. Mientras Manuel Leguineche evoca con pesimismo la dictadura de Francisco Macías Nguema y lo que vino después, Mbomio Bacheng busca a tientas alguna esperanza en la religión católica. Un país martirizado y cuatro voces disonantes, que se unen en un concierto tan desconcertante como sincero y expresivo.
