'El Cíclope' de Eurípides, ilustrado expresamente para esta obra por Onésimo ColavidasEl Cíclope es el único drama satírico conservado del poeta griego Eurípides de Ática, siglo V a.C. Eurípides interpreta un pasaje de la Odisea de Homero sobre el regreso de Ulises desde Troya. El barco de Ulises queda embarrancado en la isla del Monte Etna, en la que habitan los Cíclopes que tienen un solo ojo. Ulises y sus hombres se encuentran con Sileno e hijos, que fueron apresados para servir al Cíclope, llamado Polifemo, y obligados a apacentar sus rebaños de ovejas. Polifemo se alimenta de carne, de leche y queso de cabra pero también es antropófago y puede comerse a Ulises y a sus hombres en un festín.La acción se desarrolla en la lucha de Ulises contra el gigante Polifemo.
