Anhand eines praktischen Falles soll in diesem Beitrag die Bedeutung der Psychologie in der Krankenhausumgebung aufgezeigt werden. Der Patient ist ein chronischer Nephropath mit organischen Symptomen, die seine Subjektivität beeinträchtigen, und der Inhalt der gesammelten Daten wird durch klinisches Zuhören mit Hilfe des psychoanalytischen Ansatzes analysiert. Die Schlussfolgerung ist, dass der Patient durch die psychologische Betreuung in der Lage war, seine Probleme zu verarbeiten und sein Leiden in Worte zu fassen.
