'「一個人的價值,在於他貢獻了什麼,而不在於他能得到什麼。」──阿爾伯特·愛因斯坦◤「妨礙我學習的唯一障礙,就是我的教育」──學校什麼的最討厭了!  學校的生活沒有讓愛因斯坦感到快樂。愛因斯坦覺得,在學校裡上學根本就不是學知識,而是受罪!只有數學和物理能夠引起他些許的興趣,因為他本來就喜歡數學和物理。但這些學科在學校教起來,也像軍事訓練一樣乏味。◤「探索真理比占有真理更為可貴。」──這一年,他創造了奇蹟!  1905年,愛因斯坦在《物理學年鑑》先後發表了四篇論文,分別為:《關於光的產生和轉化的一個啟發性觀點》、《熱的分子運動輪所要求的靜液體中懸浮粒子的運動》、《論動體的電動力學》、《物體的慣性同它所包含的能量有關嗎?》,這些論文同時在二十世紀物理學新發展起來的三個重要未知領域──相對論、量子論和分子運動理論中都取得了重大的突破,此年也因此被稱之為「愛因斯坦奇蹟年」。◤「武力不能維持和平,互相理解才可以。」──熱愛和平的世界公民  即使被納粹迫害,愛因斯坦也從未放棄自己的信仰和對自由、平等的呼籲。在離開加州之前,愛因斯坦在接受《紐約世界電訊報》的採訪時說:  「只要我能選擇,我就會只生活在這樣的國家──在那裡,普遍遵循的準則是公民自由、寬容和法律面前人人平等。公民自由就是人們有用語言和文字表達個人政治信念的自由,寬容就是尊重他人的任何信仰。」◤「作為人類的一員,我反對民族主義;作為一個猶太人,從今天起,我支持猶太復國運動。」──差點成為以色列總統?  1952年,為了感謝愛因斯坦對猶太復國運動的支持和對猶太人的幫助,同時還因為他令人敬仰的國際聲望,以色列國議會提名愛因斯坦擔任第二任以色列國總統。  愛因斯坦回絕了。他很清楚,自己從未有過追逐任何政治利益的想法,他所做的一切,僅僅是出於他的正直之心和對人格平等的倡導。  可以說,愛因斯坦一生都在為猶太人爭取和平與自由,同時也為維護德國與其他國家的友誼作出了出色的貢獻。◤「別難過,人總有一天是要死的!」──晚安了,世界!  愛因斯坦臨終前再三囑咐,切不可將他現在的住所當成人們「朝聖」的紀念館,他在研究所的辦公室也一定得讓給別人繼續使用。他希望除了他的科學理想與社會理想之外,他的一切都跟隨他一起死去。  四月十八日的下午四時,只有十二個最親近的人跟在愛因斯坦靈柩的後面,將他的遺體送到離城幾里外的殯儀館火化。沒有花圈,沒有樂隊,沒有演說,也沒有任何的宗教儀式,根據他生前擬就並簽字親手交給海倫的遺囑意願,他的骨灰將被撒向大地,而且不發訃告,不辦葬禮,不建墳墓,不立紀念碑。  在殯儀館的小教堂當中,愛因斯坦遺囑的執行人納坦向長眠於地下的科學巨人及他的十二位最親近的人朗誦道:  我們全都獲益匪淺,  全世界都感謝他的教誨。  那專屬於他個人的東西,  早已傳遍全世界。  他就像行將隕滅的彗星,光華四射,  將無線的光芒同他的光芒永遠連接......
