As bombas de infusão são utilizadas para o tratamento da espasticidade resultante de diferentes causas, através do enchimento da câmara da bomba com baclofeno que é injetado por via intratecal pela bomba. Neste estudo utilizamos uma bomba de infusão programável synchromed 2 que controla a dose preferencial de baclofeno para cada doente. Os doentes selecionados apresentavam espasticidade devido a diferentes causas e a resposta é variável consoante a patologia que causa a espasticidade.
