1995年11月盧濱峰先生和一群志同道合且熱愛中國古典詩詞的朋友，創辨了華府詩友社。宗旨乃以詩會友，彼此唱和，切磋琢磨，並傳播中華文化。同年12月，在《華府新聞日報》創刊詩友詩詞，為《嘗試集》雙月刊之始。正如標題所暗示（'Chang Shi' 英譯為'探索'），這些出版物讓華府詩友社的社友鑽研中國詩詞的世界。 華府詩友社《嘗試集》期刊一年六次在《華府新聞日報》雙月份刊出。自1995年12月創刊，至2022年12月底，已歷27年，共刊出164期。《華府詩友社嘗試集》第四卷則為匯編自2016年6月至2022年12月以來的《嘗試集》第125-164期的合訂本。本卷匯編詩友的800餘首詩詞。 也許是春花秋月，良辰美景。也許是炎炎夏日，清風徐來。也許是冰雪封窗，書軒靜坐。一壺佳茗，數卷詩詞，沉醉前人翰墨，自可心曠神怡，寵辱皆忘，此樂何極！ 中國古典詩詞是中華文化的瑰寶。蘊涵人生的一切喜怒哀樂、感情、智慧和抱負的精髓，凝鍊融匯在優雅動人的寥寥數字。   華府詩友社詩友身處異邦，心思故國。業餘淺斟低唱，耕耘唐風宋韻，怡情養性，玄圃積玉。   華府詩友社德高望重、滿腹經綸的元老, 弘揚國粹不遺餘力，更傾囊相授提攜後進。使五千年來輝煌奪目的中華文化，在美國華府，發揚光大，薪火相傳。加上眾社友共同努力，倍功績顯赫。
