本书主人公黄翔(1941- ),湖南省桂东县人,为追求生命自由和创作自由,先后六次羁狱,受尽迫害,从1958年起笔耕四十余年,著述约三百万字,长期在中国大陆惨遭禁毁,1997年,携妻子秋潇雨兰旅居美国。目前在海外出版的黄翔作品,主要有《黄翔--狂饮不醉的兽形》,诗集《黄翔禁毁诗选》,散文集《梦巢随笔》、半自传体长篇小说《自由之血》,传记《喧嚣与寂寞--黄翔自传·东方叙事》,'受禁诗歌系列':《活着的墓碑--魇》《裸隐体和大动脉》《诗--没有围墙的居室》《非纪念碑--一个弱者的自画像》《我在黑暗中摇滚喧哗》《独自孤寂中悄声细语》,'太阳屋手记'三书:《总是寂寞》《沉思的雷暴》和《锋芒毕露的伤口》,部分作品已被译为英、法、瑞典文、日文等多种语言。菲里尼(Federico Fellini)说,'一切艺术都是自传性的;珍珠是牡蛎的自传。'黄翔的诗歌、散文和小说的自传色彩显而易见,但这些作品同时也是中国二十世纪下半世纪的文学传记和宏伟史诗。长期向往光明的黄翔,是一位伟大的'黑暗诗人',他捕获了我们无法忘却的痛苦的记忆,把专制下的恐惧和抗争化为奇幻的诗美。他的诗歌是中国当代文学的奇迹,是像印尼爪哇的佛教建筑婆罗浮屠一样的东方奇迹。本书著者生动描述了黄翔的生平和罗曼史,追溯其创作道路,以色彩诗学和比较文学的角度赏析其诗歌的思想价值和艺术价值。因此,本书可以视为第一本特殊的黄翔评传。本书将先后以中、英文两种文本出版。它的重要价值,首先在于黄翔在中国当代文学尤其是当代诗坛所占有的特殊重要的地位。 著者傅正明,湖南省邵阳市人。北京大学中文系研究生毕业,文学硕士,现居瑞典,著有《在波兰的废墟上--辛波斯卡的诗歌艺术与文化传统》《百年桂冠--诺贝尔文学奖世纪回眸》等专著、论文和《古希腊喜剧艺术》等译著多种。
