Ce livre a pour but de retracer l’histoire de l’école industrielle Joaquim Ferreira do Amaral de Jaú, depuis ses premières années de fonctionnement jusqu’en 1960, qui avait pour objectif de former des étudiants en vue de l’industrialisation et de l’urbanisation imminentes de la ville. En outre, il est également pertinent de récupérer l’histoire de la ville à partir de la même période, afin que les souvenirs ne se perdent pas au fil du temps. Grâce aux journaux locaux et régionaux, aux photographies et aux témoignages des élèves, des enseignants et du personnel de l’époque, il a été possible d’analyser la représentativité de l’école, en cherchant à découvrir ce qu’elle signifiait dans la réalité du développement de Jauense.
