The Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex in Granada, Andalusia, Spain. Built by the Nasrid Dynasty in the mid-13th century, the palace is considered an example of Islamic palace architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Alhambra palace has a unique and otherworldly beauty. The architecture, art, and landscape of the Alhambra are often likened to a fine, centuries-old gem of al-Andalus origin.
