This Daily Diary is designed to assist all early years practitioners work in partnership with parents, carers and all professionals working with the child. It is suitable for children from birth and is clearly formatted to allow daily information sharing including; nap times, meals, activities, milk feeds, behaviour and lots more. Other sections are included to record; weekly planning, parents comments and updates, observations and the child’s details. The Early Years Daily Diary allows practitioners to effectively meet Ofsted welfare requirements and EYFS commitments in a way that is simple and time saving. The compact size ensures the diary is easy to carry to and from settings, permits ease of storage and allows important information to be accessed and shared efficiently. The most important aspect of the diary is its flexibility to suit your own style of record keeping. With 26 weekly sections the diary will last for a minimum of 6 months. Each weekly section has formatted pages, which although they contain areas for specific information to be completed, also allow you the space to write observations in your own style, add stickers, post it notes, pull out pages to stick in learning journals, make notes, tick boxes or write in the margins. As with all childcare resources it is important for you, the parents and other professionals to find a way of sharing information which fits in with your own styles and routines. A significant and unique aspect of this Early Years Daily Diary is the personalised support you can receive by emailing info@essentialchildminder.co.uk. Alongside being designed by a working Early Years Professional, the diary has been tried and tested by the Cheeky Monkeys Childminding Group for a period of over a year to ensure its effectiveness. It has been adapted and tweaked based upon valuable feedback and is now being offered to all early years settings.
