Eagle Blood is a novel written by James Creelman and published in 1902. The story is set in the late 19th century and follows the life of a young man named John Brainerd, who is half Native American and half white. John is raised by his mother’s tribe, the Sioux, and becomes a skilled hunter and warrior. However, when he is forced to leave his tribe and attend a white school, he struggles to adapt to the new culture and faces discrimination from his classmates. As he grows older, John becomes involved in the fight for Native American rights and joins the Ghost Dance movement. He also falls in love with a white woman named Mary, but their relationship is met with disapproval from both of their communities.Throughout the novel, John’s loyalty to his Native American heritage is tested as he navigates the complexities of living in a world that is hostile to his identity. Eagle Blood is a powerful exploration of race, culture, and identity in America during the late 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
