This work aims to construct Cai Xiang’s tea culture and its integration into modern Chinese tea ceremony philosophy, exploring his intellectual pursuit of ''integrity and discernment'' while analyzing the interplay between his ideals and the essence of Chinese tea culture. Through Cai Xiang’s ‌Tea Record‌, the book meticulously examines how tea traditions-infused with psychological depth, aesthetic values, ethical principles, and cultural orientations-have shaped daily rituals and global perceptions of tea as a unique civilizational phenomenon. By tracing Cai Xiang’s profound influence on tea philosophy, the text revitalizes classical wisdom to guide contemporary pursuits of refined living, bridging historical legacy with modern aspirations for health and cultural sophistication. Cai Xiang (1012-1067), courtesy name Junmo, was a Northern Song statesman, calligrapher, tea scholar, and scientist born in Fengtingyi, Xinghua Xianyou (modern-day Xianyou, Fujian Province).
