Dwellers In The Hills is a novel written by Melville Davisson Post and was first published in 1901. The story is set in the Appalachian Mountains and follows the life of a young boy named Chad Buford. Chad is raised in the hills by his grandfather, who teaches him how to survive in the wilderness and live off the land.As Chad grows older, he becomes more interested in the world beyond the hills and decides to leave his home to explore the outside world. He eventually finds himself in a small town where he meets a young woman named Margaret. The two fall in love, but their relationship is complicated by the fact that Chad is from the hills and Margaret is from a more privileged background. As the story unfolds, Chad must navigate the challenges of living in a society that is vastly different from the one he grew up in. He must also confront the prejudices and stereotypes that people have about those who live in the hills.Dwellers In The Hills is a compelling story about love, family, and the struggle to find one’s place in the world. It is a timeless tale that explores themes that are still relevant today, such as the importance of community, the impact of social class on relationships, and the need to embrace diversity and acceptance. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
