The life of a Black American Werewolf is a balancing act between self-control and rage. She can rip a Joker’s face off for grabbing her behind and eviscerate an Influencer who pets her hair. She can join the Briarpatch, a secret society of Black werewolves living in Austin, Texas. She can run with the Troop Dragonfly, an all-female pack of werewolves. She can eat barbecue and tacos at a park every Werewolf Wednesday. But every time she Turns, her hair grows. Everywhere. That means a trip to the Salon, the one place in Austin where the beauticians can make a werewolf look human again. Then Delilah, a greedy beautician, sells her clients’ hair to Stacy the boo hag. A skin witch can do a lot evil when she treats werewolves like ingredients with a pulse.Stacy covets the Briarpatch but can’t get past the Forsaken Forest where they live. Someone needs to stop Stacy and Delilah but the werewolves are more upset about losing the Salon than what happens to their stolen hair.Meanwhile, Genna Bellwether moves to the Briarpatch with her new spouse. She wants to be a werewolf healer. She is eager to get away from her reputation as Black Belle, the killer of killers. Then Stacy tries to skin her spouse. Stacy has underestimated the rage of a Black American Princess who is a fire-breathing dragon disguised as a werewolf. But can the werewolves of the Briarpatch trust Black Belle?
