Don’t Count Me Out is my inspirational story about my soccer journey. This story follows my desire of playing soccer to becoming the #1 Girls High School Soccer Point and Goal Scorer in Michigan. My journey, just like anyone else’s, has not been without doubters and challenging moments, but I navigated through discrimination, poor performance, and injuries. Many people thought I couldn’t compete with the best of them because I was petite, thin, African American, and a girl, but I had to let them know you can never judge a book by its cover or ever count me out.
