Il cancro al seno è una delle malattie più temute dalle donne perché colpisce il corpo anatomico e gli aspetti psicosociali. Oggi è considerato una malattia cronica. Sono moltissime le persone che convivono con il cancro, sia in fase di trattamento che di remissione o di controllo dei sintomi. Questo panorama richiede che la psicologia lavori in modo più efficiente, specifico e interessato a capire cosa porta i pazienti a maggiori difficoltà nelle diverse fasi del trattamento. Data la mancanza di una teoria specifica per la Psico-Oncologia, l’analisi di questa ricerca utilizza la proposta teorica di Donald Woods Winnicott per aiutare a comprendere e interpretare i racconti delle donne che vivono con il cancro. Questa ricerca si propone di indagare le ripercussioni psicologiche delle pazienti in prima remissione dal cancro al seno.
