Don Giovanni, Don Juan: A Grand Opera, In Two Acts (1858) is a musical masterpiece composed by the legendary Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The opera tells the story of Don Giovanni, a seductive and arrogant nobleman who is notorious for his womanizing ways. The first act of the opera sees Don Giovanni attempting to seduce the peasant girl Zerlina on her wedding day, but his plans are foiled by her fianc Masetto. Meanwhile, Donna Elvira, one of Don Giovanni’s former conquests, arrives in town seeking revenge. In the second act, Don Giovanni continues his pursuit of women, but his actions catch up with him as he is confronted by the ghost of a man he killed in the past. The opera features a range of musical styles, from comedic arias to hauntingly beautiful duets, and is considered one of Mozart’s most popular works. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
