Distinct or Extinct

In 1956, a Philadelphia longshoreman told his young son: 'The docks will always need strong backs and good men.' He was wrong. Within thirty years, 8,000 longshoremen became fewer than 500. Not because they weren’t hardworking. Not because they weren’t skilled. Because the world changed - and no one warned them.Today, seven forces are converging simultaneously on your organization: software disruption, robotics, globalization, outsourcing, digital disruption, competitive innovation, and AI. Not one at a time. All at once. This is the 7-Sided Pincer Movement - and most organizations are defending against only one flank while six others go unguarded. The question isn’t whether disruption is coming. It’s whether you’ll be Distinct or Extinct when it arrives.Drawing on 27 years of working inside 34 Fortune 50 companies - including Apple, Intel, PepsiCo, and Caterpillar - alongside thought leaders Dr. John Kotter, Dr. Stephen Covey, and Tom Peters, Mike Evans delivers the 5-Ingredient Kryptonite Defense: a proven system that makes individuals and organizations irreplaceable in the age of AI.This book will show you how to deploy Ideas, Speed, Talent, Distinction, and Leadership at All Levels - not as buzzwords, but as an integrated defense system that neutralizes every force in the Pincer Movement. Those prepared need not fear the forces at work.
