Il presente studio ha contribuito al corpus di conoscenze esistenti nel campo delle difficoltà specifiche di apprendimento, in quanto è stata prestata poca attenzione all’analisi della co-morbilità psicologica in termini di differenze di genere nelle reazioni psicologiche alla disabilità. Questo studio può servire come linea guida per i clinici nella scelta appropriata della psicoterapia per le ragazze e i ragazzi con difficoltà di apprendimento. Gli insegnanti possono modificare il loro comportamento alla luce dei risultati di questa ricerca, perché il loro comportamento può giocare un ruolo significativo nello sviluppo o nella gestione delle co-morbilità psicologiche tra i bambini con difficoltà di apprendimento.
