Type 2 Diabetes is a largely preventable disease and intensive lifestyle interventions are not only highly effective but cost-effective too. Here, Pathya Ahara and Vihara (Brisk walk) can play a major role in disease prevention. Taking these facts into consideration, the present research work was undertaken to bring into the limelight the role of suitable Ayurvedic dietary and lifestyle guidelines to prevent & manage Diabetes in view of the available evidence based supporting data. We get many references of Pathyahara &Vihara (Brisk walk) which leads to the prevention& management of Prameha. So an attempt was made to assess the effects of Pathyahara and Vihara in Prameha W.S.R. to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.Exercise, dietary and lifestyle plans should be made in accordance with theday-to-day requirement of an individual. Brisk walking and Pathyahara is necessary to manage the elevated sugar levels, decreasethe intensity of symptoms, prevent future risk tendencies and enhance the quality of life inType 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients.
