Die Untersuchung der Lebensqualität von Patienten mit Schizophrenie kann dazu beitragen, die Auswirkungen dieser Krankheit auf den Einzelnen zu verstehen und die Planung öffentlicher Maßnahmen im Bereich der psychischen Gesundheit zu unterstützen, um so eine Verbesserung der Qualität der Versorgung zu gewährleisten. Ziel dieser Studie war es, durch eine Suche in den Datenbanken PubMed und ScieLO Daten über die Verwendung des WHOQOL als Instrument zur Bewertung der Lebensqualität von Menschen mit Schizophrenie zu sammeln. Es wurden elf (11) Artikel mit Studien über Schizophrenie und Lebensqualität gefunden, die mit der WHOQOL-Skala gemessen wurden. Die WHOQOL-Skala wurde in acht (8) Ländern zur Bewertung der Lebensqualität von Schizophrenen verwendet. Ihre Lebensqualität wird als wichtiger Bestandteil einer wirksamen Behandlung angesehen. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass psychosoziale Interventionen, die auf die Entwicklung persönlicher Fähigkeiten im kognitiven, emotionalen, sozialen und psychomotorischen Bereich abzielen, für die Lebensqualität von grundlegender Bedeutung sind, da die Schizophrenie in ihrer Entwicklung eine unsichere Krankheit ist, die von Person zu Person unterschiedlich verläuft.
