Natascha Hebestreit begründet hier die These: Für einen Wirtschaftsakteur besteht Verantwortung darin, berechtigte Vertragsansprüche zu erfüllen. Wenn nämlich derzeit in der Wirtschaft von „Verantwortung' gesprochen wird, verbirgt sich dahinter eine höchst individuelle Interpretation. Es scheint, als könne eine Vielzahl unterschiedlichster Handlungen in diesen positiv besetzten Mantelbegriff gehüllt werden. Tatsächlich handelt es sich bei der Verantwortung aber um ein ganz konkretes Konzept, das wenig Spielraum für persönliche Auslegung lässt. Die Wirtschaftswissenschaften haben es allerdings bisher versäumt, die Verantwortung auf einen Begriff zu bringen, der es erlaubt, verantwortungsvolle Handlungen klar von Verantwortungslosigkeit zu unterscheiden. Das wird hier von der Autorin eindrucksvoll nachgeholt.
