Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Anglistik - Literatur, Note: 2,0, Universität Konstanz, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Bevor die Kurzgeschichten Ligeia und Eleonora bearbeitet werden, soll vorab auf die Problematik der Frauenrolle in Poes Werken allgemein eingegangen werden. Diese Problematik soll bei Gedichten und Kurzgeschichten differenziert voneinander untersucht werden und dabei die Frage gestellt werden, welche Rolle hierbei der private Hintergrund Poes und dessen Umwelt spielte. Anschließend wird die Rolle der Frau in Ligeia näher betrachtet, und in welchem Verhältnis der Erzähler zur Frauenrolle innerhalb des Stückes steht. Dieselbe Vorgehensweise wird bei Eleonora angewandt.
