Das hier vorgestellte Buch bietet einen Überblick über Glück und Katastrophen in acht Kapiteln in verschiedenen akademischen Disziplinen relevant, um einen Überblick über soziale und psychologische Inhalte 'Moral; Emotionen; psychische Gesundheit; Ethik; Wohlbefinden, Tugend; Resilienz und soziales Wissen', die bei der Reaktion auf Katastrophen aus der Perspektive von mehreren grundlegenden normativen Ansätzen in der moralischen und politischen Philosophie entstehen haben konzeptualisiert. In dieser Einleitung erläutern wir die Beweggründe für den vorliegenden Band vor dem Hintergrund des aktuellen Stands der Forschung im Zusammenhang mit Katastrophen und der Bioethik im Katastrophenfall. Man kann zwar seine Erfahrungen nicht kontrollieren, aber man kann seine Erklärungen steuern. 'Authentisches Glück entsteht, wenn man die Messlatte für sich selbst höher legt und sich nicht mit anderen misst. 'Das Negative zu heilen, bringt nicht das Positive hervor. Das gute Leben besteht darin, dass Sie jeden Tag Ihre besonderen Stärken nutzen, um authentisches Glück und reichlich Befriedigung zu erzeugen.
