Der derzeitige Kenntnisstand zur Entstehung, Diagnostik und Therapie hat sich erheblich vertieft. Mit der vorliegenden Schrift legt die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Psychiatrie, Psychotherapie und Nervenheilkunde (DGPPN) 25 Jahre nach einem 'Rahmenplan zur Versorgung psychisch Kranker' erneut ein Positionspapier über 'Die Behandlung psychischer Erkrankungen in Deutschland' vor, in dem die derzeitige Behandlungs- und Versorgungssituation analysiert wird. Hiervon ausgehend werden vor dem Hintergrund versorgungspolitischer Grundprinzipien Leitlinien einer künftigen Behandlung entwickelt.
