Im vorliegenden Band wird an Hand kennzeichnender Beispiele ein Querschnitt durch die Probleme vermittelt, mit denen sich der Leiter der Personalabteilung aufgrund der wirtschaftlichen, technischen und gesellschaftlichen Änderungen auseinanderzusetzen hat. Einleitend werden die seit dem zweiten Weltkrieg eingetretenen Veränderungen in ihren Grundzügen referiert. Die sich anschließenden zehn Beiträge befassen sich mit folgenden Themen: Eingliederung des Mitarbeiters in die Unternehmung, Arbeitsgestaltung - auch im Hinblick auf die heute besondere Flexibilität der Arbeitsbedingungen -, Ausbildung und Förderung der Entwicklung von Führungskräften und Führungsnachwuchskräften, Personalmanagement und Personalchef der Neunziger Jahre.
