'Jim was gone. He was fine, and then I didn’t have him anymore. Nothing made sense. I couldn’t understand what people were saying. I wanted my 'normal' back but as I began to realize... this had become my normal, a life without Jim.' 'I had the comfort of knowing Jim had a personal relationship with the Lord and when he died he would be with his Lord; but I missed him so very much. When someone would say to me ’I’m so sorry you have lost your husband’, I would say, ’Oh no, I know where he is, I’m the one who’s lost’.' 'I had not known there could be so much physical pain. I knew there would be emotional pain of course, but I was shocked at the physical pain. In fact, I wondered just how quickly it would be before my grief would kill me.' When Jane’s husband died suddenly she felt her world had fallen apart. In this book she tells about some of the many issues she needed to deal with following his death and how, when nothing made sense, she found peace in her Lord. Her faith in God, support of family and friends and sense of humor carried her when the walking was hard. She tells of incidences that have happened in her life before and since her husbands’ death and is reminded often that life can be hard, but we can live among the coal or choose to let the pressure produce diamonds.
