Este estudo investiga a sazonalidade existente nos países emergentes do Brasil, Rússia, Índia e China (BRIC) e uma comparação com o mercado bolsista dos Estados Unidos da América (EUA). Para a análise, o estudo utilizou os retornos diários de cinco índices de acções, que são os principais índices do mercado bolsista dos BRIC e dos EUA, para o período de abril de 2010 a março de 2015. O presente estudo revela o dia da semana e o efeito lunar do mercado de acções do BRIC e do mercado de acções dos EUA. A compreensão do padrão de tendência sazonal no mercado de acções seria útil para os investidores tomarem decisões de investimento e também para desenvolverem as suas estratégias de investimento de forma adequada.
