Le Burundi, confronté à une forte fécondité et à une mortalité maternelle élevée, observe une faible utilisation des contraceptifs modernes, surtout en milieu rural. L’EDS-III-2016-2017 montre que les femmes urbaines utilisent davantage ces méthodes. Malgré les efforts de sensibilisation depuis 1980, l’adoption reste limitée. Il est essentiel d’identifier les déterminants de cette faible utilisation pour adapter les politiques de contraception. Cette recherche vise à proposer des stratégies pour améliorer la santé maternelle et réduire la fécondité.
