Este estudo estima e avalia o estado do desenvolvimento motor em crianças e adolescentes com deficiência mental, nos graus superiores do ensino básico especial (entre os 11-12 e os 14-15 anos) e do ensino secundário especial (entre os 16 e os 21 anos). O objetivo básico deste estudo foi determinar a significância da diferença de género (masculino/feminino), diferenças de nível de ensino no desenvolvimento motor básico, relacionadas com as diferentes subcategorias de QI-Maturidade Intelectual. Adicionalmente, de especial interesse neste estudo foi estabelecer as correlações entre as variáveis para a estimativa do desenvolvimento motor, (PFT), idade cronológica (Idade/M), desempenho escolar/rendimento académico (ScSs) e maturidade intelectual (QI) dos participantes.
