Se aborda el estudio de los niveles de conocimiento sobre situaciones de desastres que poseen un grupo de estudiantes de la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad de la Habana. Debe su importancia y novedad, esencialmente, a que en Cuba, son pocas las investigaciones que se han realizado sobre este tema y ninguna de estas han sido con estudiantes de nuestro centro, lo cual permitirá identificar, por primera vez, cuáles son los niveles de conocimiento que sobre este tema poseen este grupo de estudiantes.Se realizó un estudio no experimental de corte transversal descriptivo, con el objetivo de identificar los niveles de conocimiento sobre situaciones de desastres, así como identificar las principales situaciones de desastres vivenciadas por ellos, identificar las principales fuentes de información a través de las cuales han adquirido los conocimientos y las principales consecuencias psicológicas desencadenadas por estos eventos. Se aplicaron dos cuestionarios y una entrevista individual estructurada.
