Anhand der in Österreich durchgeführten Studie präsentiert der Autor einerseits eine differenzierte Analyse der gesellschaftlichen Bedingungen, unter denen „fremde Männlichkeit' zu einem Problem gemacht und abgewertet wird. Andererseits wird auf Basis qualitativer Forschung gezeigt, welche Strategien junge migrantische Männer finden, um mit diesem gesellschaftlichen Kontext umzugehen, und welche Männlichkeitskonstruktionen sie dabei entwerfen.
