Denominations: From God or Man? Volume Three is more than a workbook-it’s a spiritual invitation to return to the foundations of biblical truth. In this volume, I encourage readers to evaluate their faith not by tradition, but by the teachings of Christ and His apostles, as revealed through Scripture. What makes this book unique is the way each lesson is structured, offering deep scriptural analysis, reflection questions, and opportunities for genuine growth, presented in a respectful yet firm tone. It doesn’t attack differing views but compels honest, Bible-based exploration. Within this 13-lesson study, I first examine the tenets of John Calvin, whose theology continues to influence denominational beliefs to this day. (i.e., 'Original Sin,' and 'Once Saved, Always Saved'). With Calvinism as a backdrop, the book turns to a study of a denomination that holds to most, if not all, of these tenets, the Presbyterian Church. These tenets have led this group to question Scripture’s inerrancy and authority, which, in turn, has led to changes in their worship protocol. Changes in the observance of the Lord’s Supper, the necessity and method of baptism, and the acceptance of women into their ministry, to name a few. Paul told Timothy, 'All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.' (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The importance of accepting this passage is becoming a challenge for many today, and this book reveals that the Presbyterian Church has failed in this challenge. Whether used individually or in a group, this study challenges believers to set aside inherited doctrines and seek the unity Jesus prayed for. This scripture-based workbook promises to help the reader align their faith with the teachings of Christ through an eye-opening, respectful, and deeply thought-provoking study.
