This book of verses is a straight-shooting approach to self-empowerment to help us maintain resilience, confidence and self-esteem, when confronted with Denials and Rejections because someone decided to make you their target of abuse (mental, physical, or verbal). The book is written in a short, concise manner for people of all ages, background, race and gender. The verses present a humorous, but powerful way to cope with the Denials in our lives. The inspiration for this book was a series of obviously unjust DENIED, DENIED, DENIED, while entangled in a legal battle with one of the corporate giants, without an attorney. Each DENIED left me feeling so downhearted and depressed, because I knew the DENIEDs were based on lies and injustice and it was an attempt to silence me as I navigated through the injustice system. One day after receiving perhaps the 7th DENIED, I told my son 'This is crazy. I have to find a way to turn all these DENIEDs into something positive.' Then I wondered, can anything positive come out of that negativity. When I thought about others who, in various situations, have been the target of another person’s desire to oppress through their unfair Denials or Rejections, I began to write. We can’t allow others to take away our self-esteem. My battle is on-going. This book is a first step to my emotional recovery.Recovery is challenging but possible because...DENIED DOESN’T DEFINEThank youIris Mcclaindenieddoesntdefine@gmail.com (to order or feedback)

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
