Il vino è una delle bevande più consumate; pertanto, è necessario un quadro analitico della composizione e della qualità di questi vini di largo consumo per quanto riguarda la presenza di metalli tossici. È importante riconoscere che il consumo di vino contribuisce all’apporto giornaliero di metalli essenziali quali rame, zinco, ferro, piombo, alluminio, potassio, sodio e calcio, tra molti altri. Potrebbe essere molto piacevole bere questi vini, soprattutto se non risultano dannosi per la salute. Tuttavia, c’è motivo di allarme se i metalli tossici si depositano nell’organismo a causa del consumo di questi vini cosiddetti 'rinfrescanti', causando malattie debilitanti, specialmente quelli prodotti nei paesi in via di sviluppo. Considerando campioni di vini alcolici e analcolici di alcuni paesi rispetto a quelli prodotti in Nigeria, il progetto è stato in grado di stabilire lo stato dei metalli nei campioni di vino. Questo libro stabilisce uno stato comparativo dei vini prodotti in Nigeria e dei vini prodotti all’estero, che ha anche riscontrato che i vini prodotti in Nigeria sono idonei al consumo secondo le specifiche degli organismi di regolamentazione.
