Dear Pam,Thank you for sharing this heartfelt journey with me! I was touched by your words of excruciating pain-words of love and sorrow, but now hope.Barb Zerby            B.A. in psychology and special education, hospice volunteer coordinator  When life suddenly throws you a curve ball that knocks your socks off, how do you regain your footing? When the curve ball is the sudden death of a loved one, the devastating impact leaves a path of destruction that threatens your very survival. The destruction starts with your heart and continues to tear apart your body with serious risks of damage to your emotional, spiritual and physical well-being. Pam Mezyk is a nurse who has spent the better part of her thirty-seven-year nursing career working with death and dying. When her husband died suddenly while traveling in Israel it was like being a virgin to grief, and it took on a whole new meaning. Death or Divine Intervention: A spiritual journey through love, loss and grief explores raw emotions and is open and honest about the author’s struggles with recovery. The readers will find the author’s openness refreshing, and many people will be able to relate to her honesty and personal trials. About the authorPam and her husband, Tom, were married thirty-three years and together since she was eighteen years old. They had two sons, Jason and Joshua, and a daughter-in-law, Beth, Jason’s wife. Since Tom’s death Pam has been blessed with three grandchildren, Thomas, Grace and Jacob. Pam continues to work in her mission-driven career at St. Thomas Hospice and hopes to work with other newly bereaved women through whatever venue God provides. In writing this book she hopes her story will help others heal and accept their sorrow and let grief go.

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...
