Few would deny that the American Evangelical church is in a time of crisis; division, confusion, and distraction reign. The cause of the crisis, however, much less the way out of it, is rarely agreed upon. In this straightforward and easy-to-read book, Jesse Hamilton argues that the cause of the American Evangelical church’s problems is part theological and part cultural--and uniquely American. The only solution is to return to a biblical understanding of several vital issues, including the gospel, the kingdom of God and its relation to earthly kingdoms, and the nature of biblical ministry. Only after real repentance and a return to following Jesus as it ought can the American Evangelical church hope to move forward in purity, unity, and real power.
