Charles Manson was an American criminal and cult leader. In mid-1967, he formed what became known as the 'Manson Family', a quasi-commune based in California. His followers committed a series of murders in July and August 1969. This is a fictionalized account of his childhood, criminal career, and the events that led Manson and his friends to commit the notorious Tate-Labianca murders. This novel was written by the author when he was seventeen in 1989. Some events and characters have been created for dramatic purposes. This novel includes material that may be uncomfortable to some readers.

Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
