Elle is a single 32-year-old elementary school art teacher still solidifying her life path while trying to cope with her traumatic past and its aftermath. Her best friend, Ami, appears to have overcome their shared trauma and to have her life well established. She has always been Elle’s biggest supporter and mentor. However, Elle is then forced to cope with the likely end of their friendship when Ami becomes resentful of Elle for putting her romantic relationship in jeopardy. Elle is left to navigate one of the most uncertain times in her life without her. Though she is able to find support in other relationships, their motives, and the motives of several acquaintances she encounters, become questionable along with her sanity. In the midst of Elle’s challenges the weaving of a seemingly unrelated character adds another layer of suspense. This psychological thriller will evoke questions about the origins of evil, its potential for good and the capacity for redemption.
