I really started to live once I died.They call me Deadbeat Creep. I’m seriously dead, and I’m dead serious.Welcome to Mourning: a ’Friendly’ town buried beneath the burning red skies where demons can chill your congealed blood, lost souls drink Booos until they’re dead drunk, and beauty never died. It simply evolved. Mourning’s one Hell of a place. But hey, it’s home to me.I woke up in Hell with a heart beating in my bony chest, and quite possibly the worst name in town, but that’s nothing compared to what’s being done to my reputation. The Fallen STAR and his army of Corvus Commanders somehow convinced Mourning that I’m bad news, judging by the DEADBEAT the CREEP Wanted posters they plastered everywhere.Well, you know what? They’re not wrong. I am bad news ... for them.The last nail in the Devil’s coffin was when he dragged my drowned wife, Lenore, into his descent into madness. Because I’d walk through the fires of Hell, put up with all their mudslinging propaganda on the radio, even sit through the entire 1st Annual Miss Cadaver Beauty Pageant on a folded metal chair, to save Lenore’s eternal soul, and I know she’d damn well do the same for me.But the deeper I fall into the flames, the more I realize Hell isn’t just a prison for the damned, it’s a place designed to work you till you rot, make you trade garbage like currency, and break your very spirit, if you ever even had one. But freewill never died. It merely slipped our minds. Perhaps love is the only weapon we have left in our arsenal.That’s what the Fallen One and his lackeys never bargained for, because the heartless can’t see the power of it. DEADBEAT the CREEP is a skeleton with a whole lot of heart ... and I’m about to raise some serious Hell!
