DEAD ASLEEPFate, luck, destiny, or simple consequences of her own irresponsibility. This book tells of some of Jenna Slone’s outcome, from a tragic motor vehicle accident she caused. September of 1998, Jenna made the fateful decision to drive home from a bar intoxicated. The story begins, when she first met her third, and last husband, whom she was still married to, when the accident occurred. Jenna did not start it here to put blame on anyone. She used this as a timeline, to show facts surrounding the whole ordeal. Jenna has permanent brain damage, which affects her limbs, speech, and memory. Long term memory is intact, with areas of her short term affected. Age and too much pot in the seventies doesn’t help! There are sections that are totally blank. Writing this manuscript has aided in some recovery. People have said to her that she is actually fortunate to not remember the accident. They do not understand how much Jenna’s opinion differs. Jenna is struggling to put the past behind her, to concentrate on a 'New' Jenna. To be capable of tasks she once took for granted, is one of the hardest things she faces. Jenna also realizes that she has accomplished much since being incapacitated and virtually alone! That being man-less is probably a good thing! To write and publish, 'DEAD ASLEEP', has been therapeutic for Jenna. She wishes it will help others, as much as it has helped her. Jenna will admit to places in the book, where spots in her memory, of certain events, were vague. She may have embellished. Jenna does not ask for riches, rewards, pity, or accolades for this feat. Respect would be nice! Even if that keeps it’s distance, she has written this to help others and to help herself. Jenna truly hopes you enjoy this book, and that you share it with others. Read this and know, that if I can do this, as messed-up as I am now, you can do something you really put your heart into! Do not wait, and have a thing so life rendering, be your inspiration.
