De mens neemt alle ruimte op aarde in, steeds meer dieren worden gefokt in kooien en leven alleen om door de mens opgegeten te worden. Coronavirus, Afrikaanse varkenspest, runderleukemie- en vogelleukemievirus zijn allemaal onbeheersbare verschijnselen. Meer dan 300 miljoen landbouwhuisdieren in de EU brengen hun hele leven door in een kooi. De coronavirus pandemie met als gevolg de wereldwijde blokkade hebben laten zien hoe kwetsbaar de samenleving eigenlijk is. Is een varken dat verstikkend doodgaat minder belangrijk dan een mens die verstikkend sterft. Hier spreekt geen dierenactivist, maar een arts die op zoek is naar een oplossing. De consumptie van vlees en zuivelproducten blijft wereldwijd stijgen en doet hele dier- en plantensoorten verdwijnen, waardoor we in contact komen met potentieel gevaarlijke virussen. De wereld staat op zijn kop en onze kennis en inzichten nemen razendsnel toe. Het kan niet zo zijn dat kwetsbare groepen gevaccineerd worden als ultieme oplossing voor de problemen.Jaarlijks een Influenza A(viair) vaccin ter bescherming tegen de pluimveeindustrie en jaarlijks ook Covid vaccin ter bescherming tegen de virussen van de vleesindustrie? Er zal meer moeten gebeuren en dan denk ik vooral aan de ontwikkeling van kunstvlees. Mosa Meat en Nutreco zijn er al ver mee.Stop met het slachten en eten van dieren en de productie van kweekvlees wordt de oplossing voor klimaatverandering en opkomende pandemieën.
